backstage:elevation

Elevation Church has experienced enormous growth since it’s launch in February of 2006. In the wake of our growth, we have received many calls from fellow church planters wanting to know what exactly was going on in Charlotte. That, along with the desire to share what God has shown us through the beginning of Elevation Church, led us to offer backstage:elevation experiences.

Our hope is that through a structured and scheduled visit to our weekend worship experience and by spending time with our staff, we will be able to give insight into why we do certain things, how we arrived at those decisions, and hopefully keep you from repeating our mistakes. Our prayer is that this is a resource for church starts, while also ministering to existing churches.

It’s easy and free. All you have to do is register for a visit to worship with us on a Sunday morning and get a behind the scenes tour of a portable church from the grueling set-up through the lengthy teardown and everything in between. Here is a brief rundown of what the Sunday would look like:

Sunday Morning Schedule

  • 5:00AM Arrive and begin set up / Starting in the auditorium with sound equipment
  • 7:30AM Production Run Through
  • 8:30AM 1st Worship Experience
  • 10:00AM 2nd Worship Experience
  • 11:30AM 3rd Worship Experience
  • 2:30PM Tear down

What a Sunday morning typically looks like for a church planter

  • Most church planters arrive at 5AM to observe our set up procedures.
  • Larry Brey, Connections Pastor, will be your contact person throughout the backstage experience. He will meet you on Sunday morning, take you on a tour of the campus as well as be available for questions during your visit.
  • Typically, church planters want to observe the production run through at 8AM.
  • The 8:30 service is usually the worship experience that church planters attend, so that they are free to travel to our video campus and/or spend more time with a staff member asking questions and observing our children’s ministry.
  • Tear down happens starts at 2:30PM and can be valuable for church planters to observe if they are portable and/or meeting in a high school.

*The morning does vary depending on your goals for the Sunday. You will receive more information prior to your visit that you will complete and return to us to allow us to better serve you.
